Is Oracle Database 10g/PL-SQL a good choice as the first RDBMS & query language to learn? -


this question exact duplicate of:

i have decided go have on computer,but since totally new databases,i want confirm if choice others.i don't want in situation spend months learning particular rdbms , query language, , realize in retrospect have made better choice.so want kindly tell me if made choice.thanks.

learning oracle implementation of sql not harm career - so, yes choice learn first database.

each database has it's own non standard commands make life easier, , trick aware of - things easier in oracle, other things easier in mysql .

you should copy of "the sql cookbook" o'reilly - shows how standard tasks done each of databases.
