Why is Java often spelled as JAVA (usually in old texts)? -

do know reason spelling name of java programming language uppercase? see in (especially old) articles , ugly spelling made me curious. think not acronym shouldn't uppercase.

just example:

corba 2.2 (february 1998) - version of corba includes server portability enhancements (poa), dcom interworking, , idl/java language mapping specification.

source: http://www.omg.org/gettingstarted/history_of_corba.htm

does have historical reason?

no, there no reason.

java (before general release) called oak, oak trademarked name.
