conditional formatting - Excel dropdown list - automatically fill in values based on selection -
i trying create internal costing spreadsheet restaurant. i've reacquainted myself how create dropdown lists (used, in case, selecting ingredients).
when selects e.g. 'carrots' dropdown list, other fields autopopulate costing data spreadsheet. know how make dropdown pull data other sheet, not know how have fields on current sheet pull costing data conditionally based on item in dropdown selected.
please explain answer i'm 5; it's been many years since excel ninja days.

you can use vlookup if have data set in table already. have set validation in image below. can use vlookup refer number , table. of course can clean more efficient use of named range , offset function in general may solve problem.
