.htaccess and magento -


i trying use .htaccess handle 404s reason default page cms/indes/noroute keeps interfering, there way change magento's 404 using .htaccess instead of default no-route, idea send 404s search result containing keywords looking for. got work on other sites before on magento have strange way of handling 404s , don't know how around it.

one possible way rewriting mage_core_controller_varien_router_default class, doing redirect noroute. redirect own controller, showing search results.
